Concordia University Wisconsin is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world.
Concordia University Wisconsin's global education program includes international students studying here, CUW students studying abroad, and CUW students studying at other Concordias. Our mission is to help students gain a global perspective and develop the ability to interact with people of other cultures within a quality academic program.
F-1 student who are completing their final course for their degree via E-Learning will not be eligible to apply for post-completion OPT. The rationale for this policy is that the student could have done the E-Learning course earlier during their program of study and should have planned their courses accordingly. CUW had previously allowed students to apply for OPT when their last course was done through E-Learning; however, every student that had applied for OPT while finishing through E-Learning was unsuccessful in completing the final course by anticipated end date. As a result, CUW has instituted this policy.
International students who have failed to maintain their F-1 status at any time may not be eligible for curricular practical training and/or optional practical training. This includes students who have habitually paid their school fees late as CUW considers paying school fees on time as part of the maintenance of their F-1 status. Each student's eligibility will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for a determination of whether or not CPT and/or OPT will be recommended.
